Brent Hurter
Brent Hurter is a culinary leader and seasoned chef with the H‑E‑B Houston Division, currently overseeing the Connections and Cooking Connection chef team across more than 100 stores throughout the region. With a strong focus on retail theater, culinary innovation, and partner development, Brent plays a key role in shaping in-store food experiences that drive engagement, sales, and customer loyalty.
A graduate of the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership, Brent built his culinary foundation through diverse experience in restaurants and country clubs. Notably, he trained under a Master Chef at the prestigious Houston Country Club, where he refined his technique, leadership skills, and passion for culinary excellence.
During his tenure at H‑E‑B, Brent has contributed across multiple facets of the business, including store operations leadership and the successful launch of several high-impact concepts. His work has supported the growth and execution of Meal Simple, True Texas BBQ, and a variety of in-store food concepts and restaurant programs, helping position H‑E‑B as a leader in fresh, chef-driven retail offerings.
Beyond his day-to-day leadership, Brent is deeply engaged in the Houston culinary community. This year marks his 15th year of involvement with Wine & Food Week, reflecting his ongoing commitment to supporting and elevating the region’s food and beverage culture.
